Earnest is a private, single-user scheduling assistant built and used by one person,
Giulio Caravagna, a researcher and lecturer, to manage his own work calendar.
What it does
Finds free time slots in the owner's own calendars.
Creates and reschedules calendar events on the owner's behalf, after the owner's approval.
Answers availability questions from members of the owner's research group through the group's
own Slack workspace, showing only free/busy time and never event details.
Who can use it
Earnest is not a public service. It has no sign-up and no other users. It connects only to the
Google account of its owner, through the Google Calendar API, and runs on a server controlled by the owner.
